The Little Nuances of BIG Printing
When you are going to set up things at a trade show, one of the many things you will need to be done is wide format printing. There are professionals who specialize in designing and printing expressly for such purposes and it is to them that you have to call. However, being a little educated about the entire affair would put you in a better position to get the job done right.
- Make sure that you make use of as many vector images as possible. The good thing about this is that they can scale either ways – up or down. Since they can be used in small sizes in designing, they do not add to the processing speed of your computer.
- Remember that all big size printing is done in inkjet and this is something to consider when you have a company logo in a specific shade. Plan your design based on these considerations.
- Look at the big picture when it comes to choosing the right kind of font. Stay away from any of the decorative ones. These tend to blend into your design. Also, look into how many elements you already have in your design. Base your choice of font on this. You could also think of using contrasts to highlight your text.
- Once you have your whole design ready to go, take a few paces away from your computer and look at your design again. Stand a minimum of 12 feet away and look at the design. You will see things in a completely new perspective.
- Big printing is quite the expensive affair and you should ideally print a smaller scaled version to check for any mistakes or any changes necessary.
Getting all your details right before you go in for the final print is quite essential to get the best possible effect on your wide format printing.
