Spotting A Scam In Telemarketing Leads

It’s always important to be discerning when you shop, and as a consumer it is your responsibility to make sure the companies you work with are credible and trustworthy. When buying something like marketing leads, you especially have to watch the companies you buy from, as there are many websites out there looking to rip you off of your money.

Because it is nearly impossible to discern whether or not a list is authentic until you receive it, you should look out for a few clues on the website. For example, what are they offering? Do they have a wide variety, like credit repair travel leads, and insurance numbers? Are the lists offered actual popular genres in the phone sales market?

Next, look for what kind of lists they are offering. Anything worth buying will be handwritten, and the original copy will be sent to you via mail. If they offer to send a digital list in the meantime, don’t use it. You will want to wait until the original is in your hand before you start calling.

You should also be aware of those genres that are the same, despite having different names. If it sounds related, such as lottery and sweepstakes leads, you can safely assume they are the same thing, and so relevant. This is also true of related fields that aren’t the same. For example, home insurance, car insurance, and travel insurance. These may all be important to a single customer.

These are only a few guidelines, but following them could help you.
